Blackout Poetry

Thursday, July 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm CDT

Free

Explore the creative possibilities of Blackout Poetry, a process where you take an existing page of text from a book, newspaper, or magazine and select a handful of words to transform the text into a poem. Using the page as a springboard, we will highlight and block out words with art materials to transform the original work into something new. Patti Vick, MFA, and mindfulness teacher, will present examples of Blackout Poetry and guide you step-by-step in making your own creations. All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring a book or page of text from home (or a photocopy of the page) to modify and alter as well.

No prior art experience is necessary.

Presented by Patti Vick, MFA
