Our Emotional Selves – A Somatic Mind/Body Exploration – 8 Week Series

Thursday, November 7 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm CST

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until Thursday, November 14, 2024

What is an emotion? Is an emotion different than a feeling?

Through the somatic understanding that your mind affects your body while your body affects your mind, we’ll dive into how our emotions show up in often unexpected ways, affecting who you are and how you physically and emotionally feel and experience the world.

Picking up on the many lessons covered in Rich’s prior courses we’ll review and explore how we can use both our bodies and minds in open, caring, relaxed, and powerful ways to better understand our emotions and also travel safely down their many paths.

Through experimentation and play we’ll explore the connections between your body and mind, as well as the many rapidly shifting emotions and feelings you may experience.

You’ll learn practical BodyMind healing approaches that are designed to be used throughout your day, including gentle movement experiments, body awareness techniques, breathing, meditation, embodiment, the principles of aikido, mindfulness, as well as many other somatic movement & education skills.
