The Cancer Wellness Center library is the heart of our facility and its use has evolved over the years. Today, participants can find information on cancer treatment, cancer care and wellness. But more than that, the library provides a comfortable setting, which builds community among our participants.

CancerCare® is the leading national organization providing free, professional support services and information to help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer. Comprehensive services include counseling and support groups over the phone, online and in-person, educational workshops, publications, and financial and co-payment assistance.
Offers free support to cancer survivors through cancer-navigation services, one-on-one support, guidebook and cancer guide, and Tracker app. Free tools and resources cover treatment concerns, insurance and finances, emotional support and healthy living.
Through a personalized matching process, cancer survivors are connected to someone who has experienced a similar cancer situation for one-on-one support and comfort. Available for cancer survivors as well as caregivers.

Who can participate in the Cancer Wellness Center’s programming?
Anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis. This includes anyone diagnosed with cancer, significant others, family members and friends of a cancer survivor. Our programs and services are designed and intended for those who are newly diagnosed, near post-treatment, within five years of finishing treatment or those who have lost a loved one to cancer.
How much do the services cost at the Cancer Wellness Center?
Nothing. All programs and services are offered to anyone impacted by the cancer experience at no charge.
What is the difference between a cancer networking group and a support group?
A networking group provides an opportunity to share practical information with other survivors and family members living with a similar diagnosis. No registration is required for these groups, where the focus is on the physical aspects of a cancer diagnosis (i.e., treatments, symptoms and side effects). A support group is a committed group that focuses on the life-altering impact of a cancer diagnosis. There are separate groups for people with a cancer diagnosis and their significant others. Can I drop in to one of the support groups?
Unfortunately, no. Support groups are committed groups and require prior registration through contact with the group facilitator. Interested participants should contact the Center at 847.509.9595 for more information about joining a support group.
How can I give back to the Center?
The Cancer Wellness Center receives operating support through the generosity of individuals, foundations, corporations and businesses. Individuals can donate through general donations, tributes, memorials, endowments, bequests and stock gifts.
