The Cancer Wellness Center offers Featured Programs and Events on each bimonthly Calendar. These programs are often informational and educational in nature and occasionally include an experiential element. We strive to find professionals from various fields, including physicians and health-care workers, to provide the most current and useful information possible at these events. Presenter: Rabbi Karyn Kedar
The Cancer Wellness Center is pleased to welcome Rabbi Karyn Kedar of Congregation B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim. Rabbi Kedar will share her perspective on developing a series of spiritual principles to help attain spiritual fortitude during difficult times such as those following a cancer diagnosis.

This program will focus on some of the ways we create unnecessary worry and anxiety and how we can use hypnosis to calm the part of the brain that creates these thoughts.

Please join us for Dr. Hallmeyer’s program in which she will explain general concepts of clinical trial administration and what to expect when enrolling/participating. She will also discuss questions to ask, issues to consider when investigating different trials, and factors to consider when deciding on participating in a trial versus receiving standard of care.

In this workshop, a vibrational environment created by crystal bowl, breath, voice and gentle yoga postures will help reduce stress, promote deep relaxation and support the natural healing process.

Artistic creation can provide healing for people with a variety of personal and health-related concerns. Both engaging in the process of creation, and using completed artwork to communicate a variety of themes related to the healing process can be beneficial within a group environment. Groups will include a brief introduction of the process, creation of art images, and optional sharing of created images. No art experience necessary. This is not a series.

Please join us for an informative evening presenting information about your rights under the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other laws which impact the rights of cancer patients and their families. This program is open to individuals with cancer and family members of individuals with cancer.

Support groups provide a safe environment for discussing and exploring the concerns and emotions of living with a cancer diagnosis. Group members have the opportunity to discuss issues related to treatment, living with cancer, coping strategies, life after cancer…anything related to their cancer journey. The focus of the group is on the life-altering impact of a cancer diagnosis. The group is open to cancer survivors of all diagnoses at any point in time - newly diagnosed, in treatment, post treatment or living with a recurrence.
