June 8 and 9 marked the 5th Annual Crossover 4 Cancer Tournament, a basketball tournament which raises money to support the Center's programs and services.

Crossover 4 Cancer got its start in 2010 by then-DHS students Mario Guagliardo and Jack Carney, who would play pick-up games after school at Mitchell Park just for fun.

“We started talking and thought it would be fun to organize a tournament and make it an event where the community could get involved,” said Guagliardo, now a senior at Indiana University who is still heavily involved in the tournament every summer. “I started contacting small businesses and ended up with 18 sponsors that year.”
Guagliardo said they chose Cancer Wellness Center as the beneficiary because they liked the fact that it was a local organization that offered a huge range of services to those with cancer and their families.
